We make ethyl acetate on a large scale. Due to its low toxicity, it is used as a solvent in inks and paints and also as an extraction solvent. Its main function is to dissolve the resin, control the viscosity and modify the drying rate. It can also be used as a gelling agent in the manufacture of powder, essences and perfumes. It is miscible in all proportions with common organic solvents.

Ethyl acetate is mainly used in the manufacture of a variety of coating formulations such as epoxies, urethanes, cellulosics, acrylics and vinyls. It is an excellent solvent for cellulose ethers, nitrocellulose, lacquers, enamels, flexible packaging and printing inks, adhesives and it is also used as a process solvent. In the agricultural industry, it is used by few as a solvent to make agrochemicals. In the pharmaceutical industry, it acts as a flavour enhancer and extraction agent in medicine manufacturing
